"Every
day we slaughter our finest impulses. That is why we get a
heart-ache when we read those lines written by the hand of
a master and recognize them as our own, as the tender shoots
which we stifled because we lacked the faith to believe in
our own powers, our own criterion of truth and beauty. Every
man, when he gets quiet, when he becomes desperately honest
with himself, is capable of uttering profound truths." Henry Miller
About Us
The purpose of Apropos Coaching and Consulting
is to work with clients to recognize, articulate, and follow their
finest impulses in the workplace. We work with professionals who
are seeking (or being subjected to) rapid change and are looking
to have fun as they increase efficiency, effectiveness, quality,
and service.
Kerry Studwell, Apropos founder, brings her extensive
business background and her bias that "there is usually a
better way" to serve those who want to do great things. As
an "implementation" coach and consultant, Kerry's emphasis
is on the "doing." After the requisite amount of reflecting, of
course!
Kerry’s 25-year business background includes
stints in large corporations (IBM and Nortel Networks) as well
as small, closely-held corporations in the high tech field. She
has worked in many fields including semiconductor manufacturing,
technical publications, software verification, and project management--and
in many different roles including group manager, technical lead,
individual contributor, and independent consultant.
A life-long learner, Kerry has a BS in Chemistry,
an MS in Accountancy, a certificate in technical writing, and
a certificate in business coaching. Kerry draws on all of these
experiences when she works with her clients. She is always delighted
and amazed when something learned long ago is apropos of a new
situation!
On Being A Solo Entrepreneur "At a very deep level, I've accepted
that I am and always have been a solo entrepreneur. I've created
a life that fits who I am, where form truly follows function.
The resulting freedom, responsibility, and accountability leave
me giddy with excitement--tempered by a healthy fear. I know I'm
alive, and I'm loving it! Working with others to implement new
systems, structures, or frameworks so that form follows function
for them, too, is a blast! And witnessing the results of that
work is a tremendous honor." Kerry Studwell
